Registered Safety Manager®

Safety Management is a collaborative process that assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates workplace safety. The Safety Manager therefore facilitates the company’s achievement of providing a safe workplace for employees, vendors, customers and the public through compliance management, communication and addressing the legal aspects (liability & professional insurance, workers’ compensation, and contesting of regulatory citations and/or civil lawsuits). The Registered Safety Manager® (RSM) is a Safety Manager who has met education and experience standards, has demonstrated by examination the knowledge and skills that applies to safety professionalism.

 

Eligibility:

Ø      RSO / RHSO or equivalent

Ø      OSHA 10 hour – General Industry or Construction

Ø      High School Diploma or equivalent

Ø      Safety experience of at least five (5) years, of which 60% of your job is devoted to safety, and

Ø      Obtain a passing score of 80% or better on the examination  (130 question multiple-choice examination)

 

RSM Certification Retention:

Annual Maintenance Fee, and Sixteen (16) hours continuing education or equivalent every two years.
